Taking a dig at the parties like BJP, BSP and SP for having been making lot of promises in the past, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has blamed them for not delivering on their promises. “We will not make promises but will work and show results, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a mammoth rally in Agra city on February 14 for the ongoing Assembly elections. Hitting hard on BJP he said, “They had talked of India Shining in 2004” and asked the audience, “Did India Shine or Agra Shine.” Pat came the roaring response, ‘No’. Pointing to the work done by his party he said Congress (I) gave employment through the MNREGA scheme which provides guaranteed employment for minimum 100 days @ Rs 120 per day just for the asking. Congress (I) waived off Rs 60,000 crore worth of loans to help the ‘aam admi’ and the Prime Minister gave Rs 8,000 crore special package for development of Bundelkhand, he added. Assuring the people that Congress (I) will transform UP, Rahul Gandhi requested them to "Give us five years. With your support, we will work for a better future."
