Congress President and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi addressed a huge election rally at Dakor in Central Gujarat on Monday. She questioned development claims of the Narendra Modi-led Government in the state and also called it anti-people. Speaking at the rally Sonia Gandhi targeted the Modi Government in Gujarat for the corruption and mismanagement of central funds.
"The UPA government at the Centre has supported Gujarat with various development schemes for electricity, water preservation and agriculture. But the state government could not utilize these schemes in the required manner. There have been reports of corruption and malpractices by the BJP government, with the funds sent by the centre. But these people are expert in covering their faults. They did not take proper action against the corrupt even though there were clear evidences. It has been the practice of the BJP to punish the innocent and protect the corrupt" said Sonia Gandhi.
