
Congress (I) General Secretry Rahul Gandhi has said again and again that the Uttar Pradesh is the most corrupt state in the country. Inspite of elections in the state drawing near the demand for dismissal of ‘corrupt’ Mayawati governmenmt is becoming more stronger. Recently a delegation of opposition leaders met Uttar Pradesh Governor B L Joshi to demand immediate dismissal of the "corrupt" Mayawati government and a CBI probe into the properties of the chief minister and her ministers. The opposition paties handed over a memorandum stressing that the corrupt and undemocratic government be dismissed immediately. They also demanded a CBI inquiry into the properties, including the 'benami' ones, amassed by the chief minister and state ministers. The Mayawati goverment had not been holding adequate number of sittings of the legislature, said the Congress (I) spokesman. During the recent monsoon session it was cut short to only four days as a result of which important issues could not be discussed.
