Taking advantage of high demand for land by NRIs, IT industry and housing groups in NOIDA, Mayawati government has made the most of this opportunity for indulging in scams, has said Congress (I). A powerful lobby of Mayawati’s BSP control allotment of lands in NOIDA. While official rate of land is Rs 1100 per SqM, Rs 8000 per SqM is charged in cash as extra. Market rate of the same land is from Rs 15,000 to Rs 1,00,000 per SqM. People are openly saying that the extra charge is Mayawati’s share. In this illegal process while ministers, legislators and officials are making money, government is loosing valuable revenue in crores of rupees. The worst sufferer in this scam is poor farmer who looses his land, his livelihood and has nowhere to turn to. Congress (I) has pointed that NRIs and IT industry can easily find alternate land but poor farmers does not have any financial status to do this.
