Highlighting UPA government’s decision to provide a sub-quota for minorities, Congress (I) has said that condition of poor Muslims and Buddhists in the country was ‘worse’ than dalits. Therefore 4.5 per cent quota within quota was considered necessary. Congress (I) asserted that corruption in UP was at its worst and blamed the Chief Minister Mayawati for it. Congress (I) has alleged that though union government plans to set up projects in UP, the state is not making land available for political reasons thereby harming the interests of the people of the state. Congress (I) also said that the party is not worried about Anna Hazare and is ready to meet his challenge if he decides to campaign against it in the state. Congress (I) is a democratic party which is not afraid of any individual or agitation, it said. We respect the sentiments of people following which it has introduced a strong Lokpal Bill in Parliament bringing within its ambit Prime Minister and also employees of group C and D, said Congress (I).
