Slamming unfounded allegations of Anna Hazare and his team, Congress (I) has clarified more than once that Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has been in favor of strong Lokpal Bill. Law Minister Salman Khurshid too has said Congress (I) General Secretary had asked him to bring a strong Lokpal for which the country should be proud of. "Rahul Gandhi told me only one thing and that is to bring a strong and effective Lokpal Bill, on which the country should be proud of...if this is what you call is weakening it, then I don't know what strong (Lokpal) is," he added. Rahul Gandhi has always taken a view that corruption is a serious issue before the country and the poor people are most affected by it. It seems BJP-RSS combine is deliberately egging on Anna and his Team to make provocative statements to confuse the issue and thereby stall Parliamentary proceedings, said Congress (I).
