Congress (I) has accused Mayawati government of allowing illegal mining in the state which has resulted in loss of thousands of crores. Uttar Pradesh is quite rich in natural resources. Lime store, sands, gravel and stones used in construction works are available in plenty in the state. Mayawati has given monopoly of this industry to Ponty Chadda Company which is one of the personal favorite of Mayawati, said Congress (I). While this company pays a fixed contracted amount to the government, this company charges fees from contractors-traders as if it is itself a government. The company’s receipt bear government stamp. Congress (I) said, such happenings confirm that Mayawati government is acting in conspiracy with Ponty Chadda Company to plunder the natural resources of the state. Thus Mayawati government is benefiting the private company at the cost of the state, said Congress (I).
