Blaming Mulayam Singh Yadav for not fighting for the cause of poor and farmers of Uttar Pradesh Rahul Gandhi has said Samajwadi Party has betrayed them in the hour of their need. Farmers and villagers who forms large majority are worst affected by corruption in Mayawati government. When Mayawati government was committing atrocities on farmers in Bhatta-Parsol, Mulayam’s SP was nowhere while Raul Gandhi took up the farmers cause and fought for getting them justice. Again while benefits of schemes for poor people are not reaching the needy poor, Mulayam Singh Yadav does not struggle for getting the farmers seeds, fertilizers and due prices for their produce. Mulayam even betrayed Muslim minority community by joining hands with Kalyan Singh’s party in an attempt to grab power in the state. Mulayam’s government came and left but did nothing for the poor and farmers. Rahul Gandhi assured the people that a government of the poor Congress (I) will work for their welfare if given chance in Assembly elections in early 2012.
