Rahul Gandhi: Poor people have answers to all questions

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi who was on a five-day visit to Uttar Pradesh was positive about the poor people’s understanding of development and progress. He emphasised that there is no question the poor, the villagers of India don’t have a solution to. He also said it’s important to listen to in order to understand problem.
Rahul Gandhi said, “In UP, in India there is no question the poor people don’t have the answer of. The villagers, the poor and the labourers, they understand progress and development. They understand. Their voice doesn’t reach you. Why not? It’s because, your leaders do not come to you. Yes, it’s difficult – to travel far and stand under the sun. Until the time your leaders listen to you, till then they cannot understand problem.”
Thousands of people came to see Rahul and listen to him. We enquired them about the ground reality. Pain, grievances, hopelessness and hopefulness were what we got to hear. One villager from Haudi in Dumariyagunj, Suraj Dev, talked about how he complained about the water supply problem in his area and nothing has been done for months.
“We are devoid of water. We could not get it. We complained to the local authority and they asked for a thousand rupees even to hear us. What is this? We are facing a real problem and nobody’s listening to us,” said Dev.
Another resident of the same village complained about road and electricity in his area. “Electricity comes only for a few hours in my area and sometimes it is not seen for days. You see the roads – they are so bad, difficult, and painful to drive motorcycle or any other vehicle.”
