Rahul takes a dig on the MGNREGA irregularities in Dumariyagunj meet

The Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi has spoken tough on the issue of the MGNREGA mishandling in Uttar Pradesh while addressing to a public meet at Dumariyagunj on day 4 of his five day UP tour.
The Youth Congress icon talked about the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). He said that there have been a lot of benefits in states like Haryana, Kerala, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh but not a penny of it in UP.
“What did we do? World’s biggest programme, the MGNREGA – we brought. The thought was that since people from villages have to migrate in absence of employment so we should create employment for them. Go to Andhra and ask the women there, they will say yes there have been a lot of benefits. But you go to UP and ask the poor, they will say they don’t get money. The ministers, the village heads take the money,” said the young Gandhi.
From the last three days Rahul Gandhi has been talking about the failure of the ruling Mayawati government in the state in implementing Centre run social welfare schemes. He has once again spoken about the grave funds misuse under the MGNREGA.
The Congress MP from Amethi has very well communicated with the people about the condition of the noble programme in India’s most populous state. He has depicted the efforts of the Congress in combating poverty and unemployment in the country.
