Flaying BJP for its notorious double standard on political issues, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said it (BJP) has been making only false and hollow promises with the sole intent of serving its short-term political gains. While campaigning in Pilibhit, he said, “BJP ke log aapake paas aye; unhone aapse kaha hamey Ram ke naam par vote do; yeh Ram ke naam ki dalali nahin to aur kya hai (BJP leaders approached you and sought votes in the name of Ram, is it not misuse of Ram's name?).” He said while Mulayam Singh Yadav of Samajwai Party has been cornering the votes of minorities by giving ‘lip service’ to them, it is Congress which has been working for all including minorities adding that it was Congress (I)-led UPA government which gave 4.5 percent reservation to minorities recently. Rahul Gandhi requested the people to vote for Congress (I) which, he assured, would work with dedication for promising future and development of the state.
