Rahul Gandhi on the proposal to split U.P


Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while attending a Press Conference in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on 6th February 2012 as part of his poll campaign in Uttar Pradesh said that he is not that expert to quickly comment about the proposal of Mayawati to split the U.P. Rahul Gandhi said that such decisions are very complicated and it needs proper thinking and consultations before reaching in a decision.
“These decisions are complicated. This is not a simple decision as it is the matter of the future of crores of people... Mayawati Ji just took a decision in two minutes... If you want to discuss on this issue seriously, then please come to me and we can discuss it over a cup of tea... I am not an expert in this matter. But there are experts who can be consulted with. This is a serious issue and we should take opinion of the experts on these matters” said the Congress General Secretary.
About Congress’ chances in the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh Rahul Gandhi said “now you say it is number game... the answer is very straight... the party, Congress will stand up high in this election... once it stands up, it will decide whatever political activities in the state... Whether it gets 100 seats, 200 seats, it will stand up”.
