Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi launched a blistering attack on all the major non-Congress parties in Uttar Pradesh – SP, BSP and BJP- for the present pathetic state of affairs in the state. “None of these parties cared for the welfare of the people or the progress of the state. They were busy in looting public money. The funds sent by the Centre vanished in the state. It did not reach the poor,” said Rahul Gandhi.
Referring negative stand of Mayawati on MNREGA the Congress leader said “The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre sent thousands of crores of rupees under MNREGA. But Mayawati says that the scheme is not useful for the people in UP”. “You go to any other places where Congress is in power like Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Kerala or Maharashtra, every poor will tell you about the benefits of MNREGA” added Rahul Gandhi.
"These non-Congress parties have looted your hard earned money, sold God Ram, religion and caste and never talked about welfare and development in the past 22 years" asserted the Congress General Secretary.
Rahul Gandhi promised that the need of the hour is a Government of aam aadmi that treats all citizen as equal. Rahul Gandhi claimed that only Congress can provide such a government.
