All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Rahul Gandhihad alleged while speaking at a mammoth Congress rally in Kanpur as part of his Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh recently that the present leaders of the non-Congress parties in UP do not understand the strength of the people. They do not trust the people and so do not come to them, said the Congress MP from Amethi.
“The non-Congress leaders in UP do not realize this tremendous strength in the people. They do not trust you and so do not come to you”. To prove his point Rahul Gandhi asked, “Did Mayawati come to you in the past five years? Did Mulayam do so?" “They will not do so. They believe that they can fool the people with hollow promises during elections,” warned Rahul Gandhi.
“I am here not to make any promise,” reiterated Rahul Gandhi. “You have reposed faith in me and I respect that. I respect your knowledge as well as your strength. These non-Congress parties (BJP, SP and BSP) come to you and give hollow promises because they have no respect for you,” argued Rahul Gandhi.
“We should change this now. The youth should stand up. They can bring in changes. They have the strength. The people have the knowledge. I am here to support you and I will not leave you till changes take place here” promised the Congress General Secretary. Rahul Gandhi requested the people to support Congress for a better Uttar Pradesh.
