He paused in between during the prayer time as a mark of respect to the religious sentiments. He continued the speech by saying that he wants to strengthen the Youth Congress and NSUI. Congress: Opposition parties’ conduct expose their true intent
Parliament works on established procedure which applies equally to all parties. Congress is always ready for discussion on any point including prices. But once the Chair has given a ruling it is final for both the government as well as the parties. Once the opposition motion on a subject is ruled out by the Chair, they cannot move motion on the same subject under different rule or sub-rule simply to carry on the same exercise and thereby stalling another business of the house. If you are not prepared to accept the ruling of the Speaker and the rule book, you have no business to keep on moving new motions under new rule. Very well, will they accept the ruling under the new rule? The conduct of the opposition makes it clear that unless and until their end result is achieved, they will respect absolutely no ruling of either the Speaker nor will they respect parliamentary tradition to allow discussion. That is completely unacceptable. This conduct exposes the true intent and the true approach of the opposition completely.

Rahul Gandhi’s contributions key to the Land Acquisition Bill
Realising the seriousness of the issue, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi rose to the occasion and made surprise visit at the troubled areas. He had undertaken a padayatra to various villages in Uttar Pradesh where wrong land acquisition and the atrocities by the police took place and personally experienced the gravity of the situation. The mission of this young leader was very impressive and the villagers and farmers accorded Rahul Gandhi a love and affectionate welcome. Rahul Gandhi, a M.P. from Amethi, patiently listened to the grievances of the people and promised them a comprehensive land acquisition bill at the centre. To keep his promise, Rahul Gandhi held discussion at various levels in the UPA Government and with his continued and persistent efforts, a proper and adequate land acquisition bill is now a reality. As Rahul Gandhi rightly mentioned, such a bill could help curb the corruption to a great extent.
